Soulja Boy credit for "Whip your Hair"
Believe it or not, Soulja Boy’s not completely off his rocker. Although he didn’t pen Willow Smith’s breakout hit, that honor goes to Jukebox, he does get interpolation credit for the opening line “Hop out the bed turn my swag on”. That’s right, a bad hair day only meant a SB payday.

Lady Gaga to Release 'Born This Way' Album in May, Single on Grammy Night
ady Gaga rang in the New Year with a major announcement for her little monsters: "Born This Way," the highly anticipated follow-up album to her breakthrough debut, "The Fame," will be released on May 23, 2011. The set's title track and first single will premiere on Feb. 13.
Gaga announced the release dates on Twitter by posting a photo of "Born This Way's" cheeky artwork with the caption, "THE SONG 2 13 11 THE RECORD 5 23 11." The provocative image features a pantless (bottomless, really) Gaga facing away from the camera in a suggestive pose, and wearing a jacket with the words "born this way" scrawled on the back. The tattoo on her left thigh, a unicorn with the words "born this way" coiled around its horn, is also visible.

"This has to be the happiest + most exciting night of my life," Gaga wrote just a few hours before the clock struck midnight in her native New York and the announcement was made. "You've created this moment. You imagined me. You are, you wrote #bornthisway."
For close calendar-watchers out there, Feb. 13 also happens to be the date of the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, for which Gaga is nominated in six categories, including album of the year for "The Fame Monster." Could Gaga be premiering "Born This Way" live on the music industry's biggest night? Stay tuned.

Movie Box office winner is...
He may be able to shoot flying cornbread while under the influence, but the Dude in "True Grit" couldn't quite take down Ben Stiller and his "Little Fockers" this New Year's weekend.
"Fockers" dropped 15% but still won the frame with $26.3 million, according to studio estimates. The PG-13 comedy, the third in the "Meet the Parents" franchise, has so far grossed $103.2 million in two weeks. By comparison, "Meet the Fockers," which opened six years ago on the same day as "Little Fockers," had tallied $162.5 million by this point.
Even though the series has clearly lost some of its luster, "Little Fockers" is a notable win for Universal -- the studio hasn't seen a movie pass $100 million since "Despicable Me" did in the middle of July.
"True Grit" fell a minuscule 1% and lassoed $24.5 million. The $38 million Western, starring Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon, has cumulatively made $86.8 million and has now passed "No Country for Old Men" to become the biggest hit ever for directors Joel and Ethan Coen.
In third place, Disney's "TRON: Legacy" slipped 4% for $18.3 million, bringing its domestic total to $130.9 million. (For those who are curious, the original "TRON" grossed $33 million in 1982, or $89.2 million when adjusted for inflation).
New Year's weekend was particularly accommodating to "Yogi Bear," which climbed 66% to consume $13 million. Family films usually see strong returns the weekend after Christmas, as parents scramble to find ways to entertain the little ones who are still on holiday break. "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" also received a bump this weekend, increasing 11% for $10.5 million, enough for fifth place.
On the indie front, "The King's Speech" graced the top 10 with its presence for the first time, collecting $7.6 million from 700 theaters.
The break-up drama "Blue Valentine," which was initially rated NC-17 but has since won an appeal for the R rating, debuted to $180,000 from four locations, an impressive per-theater average of $45,000. And "Another Year," the latest drama from acclaimed British director Mike Leigh, opened to $120,000 from six theaters.
Check back next weekend as "Season of the Witch," the medieval-set thriller starring Nicolas Cage, finally reaches theaters. (It was originally scheduled to be released last March).
The music drama "Country Strong," starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw, will also expand nationwide.

Tesla $57k Model S sexy whip
The path to availability for cars of the future is one wrought with roadblocks, potholes, and indeed IEDs -- increasingly expensive developments. This was most recently seen with Fisker's Karma getting a price boost up to $95,900, a hefty jump over initial $80,000 estimates, but Tesla is taking this chance to give new reassurances that its Model S sedan's price of $57,000 is comfortable. That's largely thanks to smaller Li-Ion batteries, which are similar to those used in laptops and, according to Musk, will be swappable as a single unit. This type of batteries are much less expensive to produce than the large, monolithic packs used in the Nissan Leaf or Chevy Volt, about $200 per kWH vs. $750 for Nissan's. That's cheap enough for Tesla to assure that it can still make a profit on the Model S, despite its cost being set at roughly half that of the Roadster. Will that still be the case when it hits production in 2012? We can't wait to find out.

Mississippi Governor suspended death sentence on $11 robery but....
JACKSON, Miss. - Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour has suspended the life sentences of two sisters convicted in 1994 for their roles in an armed robbery that netted $11, but one sister's release is contingent on her giving a kidney to the other.
Barbour said Wednesday that Gladys and Jamie Scott are eligible for parole in 2014, but "Jamie Scott requires regular dialysis, and her sister has offered to donate one of her kidneys to her."
Barbour said Gladys Scott's "release is conditioned on her donating one of her kidneys to her sister."
Barbour said in a news release that he asked the Mississippi Parole Board to review the case and the board agreed with his decision to indefinitely suspend their sentences.
The Scott sisters have received public support from advocacy groups, including the NAACP, which called for their release. A march in support of the Scott sisters drew hundreds earlier this year.
